The Anemone 'Blue Shades', 'Anemone blanda', a fall planted tuber, produces gorgeous purple flowers. The color of these low-growing anemones varies from purple to lilac. If they are planted close together they will make an excellent ground cover. This Anemone is very hardy and they multiply every year and grow well in southern climates. When left in the ground to perennialize, they form magnificent flower carpets.

Blue Shades will flower for 4 to 6 weeks in early to mid-spring. Anemones are great for naturalizing, mass plantings, containers, rock gardens, groud covers and borders. These plants are deer, rabbit and squirrel resistant. Note: Soak the tuber in tepid water for about 12 hours before planting to promote early sprouting.
